ACON's Pride inclusion Programs
Tidge Backhouse (they/them) is a Senior Relationship Manager at Acon’s Pride Inclusion Programs, (working with both Pride in Diversity & Pride in Health& Wellbeing Teams). Tidge works with Health and Human services organizations on a regular basis to partner in their LGBTQ+ inclusion journeys.
With a lived experience as a gender diverse, sexuality diverse, neurodivergent human: Tidge knows what it is like to be underrepresented and othered.
Tidge has expertise in the realms of workplace inclusion and creating safety for LGBTQ+ staff, and also LGBTQ+ inclusive service delivery and considering how to ensure LGBTQ+ consumers have their needs met. From seeking to reestablish trust with the health system, to encouraging education on health disparities so they are both understood and engaged with they are passionate about progress being driven by asking the right questions, evolving research and data and clarifying the differences between sex and gender. Tidge’s journey has equipped them with a unique expertise and a knack for driving awareness, building capability, and cultivating empathy.
